The Find Your Passion in Sport poster series features up-and-coming Aboriginal athlete role models from across Canada (First Nations, Inuit and Métis), and is part of a campaign to encourage participation in sport among Aboriginal youth. Printable posters of the six aboriginal athletes are provided below with three lesson starters designed by aboriginal educators that can be used in conjunction with the posters. Additional resources are available, including lesson plans and, are detailed athlete biography pages available on VANOC’s /EDU website. The Find Your Passion in Sport poster series was produced through a partnership of Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC), the Government of Canada and the Four Host First Nations. The British Columbia Ministry of Education gratefully acknowledges these organizations for the use of their material. |

The Olympic Flame will travel by land, air and water during its 106-day journey as it visits more than 1,000 communities in our huge and diverse country. Over 90 per cent of Canadians will be within an hour’s drive and will be able to share in the great moments of the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay.
The 10-day, 2010 Paralympic Torch Relay will give many Canadians, young and old, a chance to discover the unique and inspiring stories of Paralympians and other Canadians who defy the odds. The 2010 Winter Games are Canada’s Games and the Paralympic Torch Relay is important part of bringing the Games to Canada. |
Check the VANOC Torch Relays page in the fall of 2009, as additional information and resources will be released for the Olympic and Paralympic Torch Relays. VANOC also has an online interactive Olympic Torch Relay map where you can view the Torch Relay route map and track the Torch on its cross-country journey.

Tickets for the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games are on sale to the general public. Teachers and school administrators will have an alternative option to purchase tickets starting in September 2009. The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) is organizing the Ticket to Inspiration Program for school groups interested in attending weekday daytime Paralympic Games events at a reduced rate ($5 per ticket).
The Ticket to Inspiration Program will offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for thousands of BC children and youth to experience the atmosphere, excitement and magic of the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games at a reduced ticket price. As a part of this program, transportation grants will also be available to offset the costs of attending.
