Each webcast explores youth issues related to culture, sustainability, sports & healthy living, Olympism, Paralympism and global citizenship. Purpose of the webcast:

  • Reflect on the Vancouver 2010 experience from an educational perspective, more specifically with regard to global citizenship.
  • Share lessons learned from Vancouver 2010.
  • Discuss global citizenship issues in light of Vancouver 2010 and London 2012
  • Discuss how best to optimize the London 2012 global citizenship experience for students in the UK and Canada.

Keynote Speakers:

  • Mary MacDiarmid, BC Minister of Education
  • John Furlong, from the Vancouver 2010 Organizing Committee (VANOC)
  • Jonathan Edwards, from the London 2012 Organizing Committee (LOCOG)

Studio Participants will include Olympic and Paralympic athletes, students and educators.
Participants from around the world will be joining in for this webcast and will have the opportunity at any time to provide comments and answers to the questions directly from their webcast screen.
